Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Harsh Vardhan inaugurated the India International Science Festival 2018. He chose The Council and Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute at Kolkata for this inauguration. On a query about fall of opportunity and allocated funds to research on Science and Technology Dr. Vardhan told BE that all those claims are not correct. We have tripled the allocation to this in our tenure than our previous government. You can verify how the number of research scholars and their papers has increased in the meantime. Actually the ministry has been requesting the scientists working outside India for quite some time to come back and serve the nation. If the scientists working in foreign countries are willing to come back can they be accommodated in India according to their positions? Dr. Renu Swarup, Secretary to the Government of India at Ministry of Science and Technology told BE that it is possible and in the last 3 years or so about 700 scientists have come back to India and they were accommodated.
