Dr. Kashi Prasad Jayaswal, historian, archaelogist and freedom fighter, was born in Mirzapur in 1881. He was devoted to historical research. He is known for his first article on “Hindu polity” which was published in the ‘Modern Review’ in the year 1913. His famous works also included “An Imperial History of India”, “A Chronology and History of Nepal” and “Andhkar Yugin Bharat”. He was twice elected President of Numismatic Society of India (1934 and 1936) as well as of All India Oriental Conference (1993). On the occasion of the 137th birth anniversary of

Chairman, Srei Foundation and Dr. Prem Shankar Tripathi, renowned novelist were felicitated with the Samaj Seva Samman 2018. The event was organised by Dr. Kashi Prasad Jayswal Smrity Samity at the Kolkata Press Club. On this occasion, Dr H. P. Kanoria said that even though Dr Kashi Prasad Jayaswal had passed away at a young age, he has left a mark with his work.
