Dr. H. P. Kanoria

Dear Readers,

Kanoria Foundation, Srei Foundation and Universal Spirituality and Humanity Foundation with media partner Business Economics had organised the 10th World Confluence of Humanity, Power and Spirituality on December 22-23 at the Westin Hotel, Kolkata. The event essentially aimed to highlight the growing relevance of humanity, unity amidst diversity, peace, harmony, a spirit of cooperation, a spirit of generosity, and to work hard with devotion, selflessly and fearlessly to create wealth and generate wealth for the welfare of living beings and the mother earth. The confluence was graced by a galaxy of global speakers, spiritual leaders, heads of states, former heads of nations, bureaucrats, diplomats, educationists, students, social activists, politicians, entrepreneurs, authors, philosophers and leaders from multiple religions. Shri Pranab Mukherjee, the former President of India, Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi, the Governor of West Bengal, Shri Tathagata Roy, the Governor of Tripura, and many foreign dignitaries had graced the occasion. It was applauded widely and appreciated by the guests and audience alike.

God is a cosmic entity without any beginning and end. Hindu Dharma is Sanatan Dharma, which is without beginning and end. It is said God was alone, He manifested himself in many ways                     -
ekoaham vahusvAmI. So God is in all living beings; in the hearts of all living beings who are His children. Lord Krishna said
Sarva bhUta hite ratna sarvasya ca hRude. I   am   seated   in   the
hearts of all beings. The Hindu Dharma is one of universal tolerance, acceptance, and righteousness. Bharat has all religions. The Hindu Dharma is based on divine evolution as well as realisation. The strength of Hindu Dharma lies in the infinite power of oneness; of infinite diversity that blends into one beautiful divine truth of being. Each path leads the individual to
reach the same goal. So there is no distrust of another point of view with respect to God. It is to protect one’s own faith, one’s own path, one’s own way of
devotion, worship, and realisation of God. Protection of one’s culture and nationality is like protection of
one’s own mother. Rishi Aurobindo said Hindu Dharma is reflected in a mighty, eternal and universal truth, and not in dogma, creed, bundles of formula, set of social rules. It is for the sacredness of man’s soul, for the divine condition of identity with the infinite existence of God. It is the science of preparing human beings
for inter-dependence, cooperation, love, protection, natural welfare and infinite bliss. It is believed that the Hindu Dharma preaches that all should be happy, all be healthy, all be auspicious - Sarve bhavantu sukhinah, sarve santu niramayah. The Hindu Dharma does not believe in conversion. It believes that let all realise God and have love, bliss in their own ways.

Science of religion has discovered that there is one universal soul; all other souls after this are divisive manifestations. Manifestations are not the creations of the world of science today. In the Hindu holy texts it is claimed- ̒ Lord Krishna and the entire universe had been manifested -from My form, all beings are dependent on Me but I am not dependent on them.’ God is everywhere and in everything. God is omnipotent and omnipresent. The architect of the universe is the overseer of truth, internal order, austerity, and simplicity. We must offer our prayers and devotion to Mother Earth to give us her blessings and bounty to live long lives, happily and united in grace, free from ego. God calls-’ O children realize- all in one and one in all. Behave with others as you with yourself. Know that all of them reside in one universal soul. We are the children of God. Partake and share immortal bliss.’

Humanity is the essence of all religions. Service to the creation of God is service to God. Live in harmony with nature, love and aspire to know and like God. The consciousness of God’s presence is the first principle of all religion. God’s grace flows freely to all; goodwill and kind thoughts become the main essence.

Rosalía Arteaga Serrano, Former President of Ecuador, said, “Spirituality gives us strength to overcome obstacles, find peace and create a better future. It makes us more tolerant and respectful towards others. We must not abuse nature and overuse its resources.”

Swami Suparnanandaji Maharaj, Secretary - Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, said, “Journey within oneself to establish our relationship with one and all. We are all one. Scientists have proved the same. Even plants, animals, metals, rocks, woods - everything is the extension of our existence. We have no right to exploit anybody or thing.”

Archbishop Cardinal Telesphore Toppo, Cardinal and Archbishop of Ranchi of the Roman Catholic Church, said, “Widen the horizon of our heart to impress the whole of humanity.” He said that Ramkrishna, one of the great mystics, experienced in his spiritual journey harmony and unity-the two great underlying principles of human existence. Swami Vivekananda believed that unity for instance is the law of the universe and he worked towards harmony between religions. The Cardinal said, “Genuine love for the other and a compassionate outlook towards the excluded are the tenets of spiritualism that will hold humanity together and bring out the best in every person.”

Tathagata Roy, Governor of Tripura, said, “Hindu Dharma -Sanatana Dharma has made it possible for so many different thoughts and so many different faiths to exist in this country. Under the umbrella of Sanatana Dharma, Bharat has Shankhya Darshan, Vedanta Darshan, Adwita, Vishishta Adwaita. There is plurality of civilisation. So many different faiths exist in Bharat. Unity and harmony is the need for humanity.”

Sister BK Rani of Brahma Kumari, said, “Paramatma or the Supreme Soul is our father. He is the source of energy and power and the source of peace. There are many forms of God that we see but there is one God. We have divine qualities of our supreme father. We must harness that quality.”

Om Swami from Himalayan Foothills, said, “The brilliant minds of our beloved nation Bharat get no opportunity in our own country and travel abroad, where they create history and wealth. In our nation we have conflicting forces. As in the past, they are trying to divide us, distract us, and disengage us from the matters that matters for our country. I believe education and democracy infused with spirituality can solve Bharat’s problem and its poverty.”

Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, Chief Imam, All India Organisation of Imams, said, “All religious texts believe in uniting human beings. They have given importance to humanity. All are equal. We need to follow the path of righteousness.  If a person is really spiritual, no unrighteousness work can happen in front of him. Dr. H. P. Kanoria is working to unite humanity amidst diversity and march with the feather of spirituality and humanity.”

Indresh Kumar, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha, said, “India is multicultural and multilingual. It has different faiths and can be the true leader of world peace. Where there is peace, brotherhood and love between people of diversity there will be no poverty. I hope this confluence will lead to that. Jai Bharat Jai Vishwa.”

H.H Princess Maria Amor D.D, Founder President, We Care for Humanity, said, “We are all spiritual beings, we need to have the spiritual experience.” She further said that religions with spiritual intelligence and indulgence can discharge their obligation to the people in a much affective way.

Satinder K Dhiman, Associate Dean, MBA Director and Chair Professor of Management, School of Business Woodbury University, said, “In every walk of life, remember the Lord, remember the supreme father but also fight the battle of life. To become a human being you have to do a lot of hard work with spiritual understanding.”

Dr. Prof. Meher Master-Moos, President of Zoroastrian College, said, “May the Cosmic Light help each and every soul to evolve upwards with happiness and joy. May the cosmic light help all the evolving souls so that they may become one with the pure white light of the creator of the Universe. May all the souls live in peace and harmony with each other and with happiness always.”

Swami Nigamananda Giri, Senior Monk, Yogoda Satsanga Society of India, Ranchi, said, “It is important for us to realise that in some way we have to serve the people around us. Paramhansa Yogananda ji, said that life should be cheerful. Our feeling should expand, engulf and embrace the people around us to our soul.  Wherein service we forget the little self. We feel the mixed self of our spirit. With that strength we do to others that we in fact are doing to our own selves.”

Swami Chidanand Saraswati, President and Spiritual Head, Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Rishikesh, said, “If we work together everything is possible. Let our heart plea for unity, oneness and harmony. Let us all do our work and respect all women, show respect to Shakti and give respect to Mother Nature. The next big war can be for water. Let us save water. We worship the creator but we need to take care of his creation.”

Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni, Founder, President Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti, New Delhi, said, “The confluence organised by Dr. H.P. Kanoria reflects unity in diversity.  The greatness of all lies in unity. All religious leaders teach us to be united. The pillar of Dharma and life is ethics and morality.  When spirituality blossoms within a person, there is no place for immorality. A positive thinking man can make the world happy.

Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder & President, Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), Leh, Ladakh, India, said, “I hope that the message from the top of the Himalayas will travel faster throughout the world. Spirituality brings colour, fragrance and beauty to human life. Spirituality is science of mind and soul. Spirituality keeps our heart, mind and soul healthy. Young generation are making progress in the fields of science, technology and economy. But they must not neglect the spiritual aspect. When we bring science and spirituality together we have healthy nation and healthy world. We are all human beings following different religions, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity and so on.”

Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, Founder and President, Divine Shakti Foundation, USA, said, we are constituted of a spirit. The spirit keeps us moving. Hindu Dharma “Everything in the Universe is pervaded by the divine.” Everybody should work for harmony, peace and to curb climate change. Raising animals for food also contributes to global warming.

The World Bank has said that the global economy will grow up to 3.1% in 2018 following a stronger than expected 2017 growth rate of 3%. The recovery in investment, manufacturing and trade continues. However, the element of uncertainty and fear of disruption is also there. Any disruption, which is not perceived by the policy makers, executives and corporate leaders, might adversely impact the investments. Investment needs to be made with proper risk calculation. Domestic capacity, international and national demands, sudden unexpected fall in demand due to the change in customers' behaviours or other reasons, accommodation for large inventories, payment irregularities by debtors as their earnings get held up - all these need to be factored in.

The country’s economy has a lot of potential. The economy can grow at 8% to 9%. But conditions necessary to maintain or accelerate the pace of growth need to be there. The non-performing assets (NPAs) problem of the banks can be addressed in a much
better way. The recovery can be much better if the business enterprises continue to run. Creating a
gloomy scenario for an enterprise leads to pitfalls. When sickness sets in an enterprise, treatment needs to be done in proper way.  We, as a nation, can learn - learn how NPA issues are dealt with globally; how sickness in an enterprise, in a sector is dealt with. High rate of interest, penalty, compound rate of interest, union and labour conflict, etc. lead to sickness. When a company faces difficulties in servicing its loans, it does not always mean that there is an intentional diversion of funds by promoters. Some errant entrepreneurs’ lifestyle has drawn a lot of media attention. They must learn to live in simplicity like the entrepreneur Warren Buffet does and as the Holy Veda decrees. The government’s frequent changes of laws and rules also disrupt businesses. All have to understand how a business runs. The government’s policy for business would be regressive if it is guided by populist compulsions. A political alliance is also needed to find serious solutions to the problems faced by the industrial sector.

Let us march ahead with the banner of inclusive and sustainable growth for the welfare of community and the universe. Save Mother Earth. Bring harmony and peace, not destruction. Do not neglect the living God, the men and women, who are the reflections of God. The message is to love, serve and work hard with devotion righteously, selflessly and fearlessly. Let the world have the cosmic cooperative spirit. Let the youth be ignited with the divinity and infinity, which they have within. Unity in diversity is the core of universe.

Dr. H. P. Kanoria
