Dear Readers,

Education: Swami Vivekananda said “Educate people technically, morally and intellectually to support themselves and give service to others”. Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man/woman. Education must be life building, character shaping. It should allow the assimilation of ideas for the betterment of society, the nation and the world. The education system must encompass holistic development of the body, mind and soul. Is has to be for spiritual development too. Engineering of body and mind along with social arts should be the essentiality of education. The goal of education should not only be limited to getting jobs, but to use the skills for the overall growth and to set up enterprises.

Bharat has to set up global standard education institutes. Universities / Colleges  / Schools prefer to admit students based on their marks and not overall achievements and talents. Bharat has wealth of knowledge and scriptures full of intricacy of life, science, astronomy, arts, science of management, sovereign rules, economic laws and policy and so on. For instance, Bhagawad Gita gives insights on works, management, self realisation of rights and wrongs. Vedas expound the creation of universe, planets, earth, nature, human behaviours and so on. All scriptures of all religions should be part of education system. Students will know the fundamental of religions leading to peace and harmony.

In Bharat the ratio of private to public schools is approximately 1:3. More than 40% of this student population is enrolled in private schools. The total amount of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows into the education sector stood at USD 2.21 billion from April 2000 to December 2018.

Public schools, especially in rural areas, are in a poor state of affairs in all respect. Building conditions and amenities (even toilets) are in a very bad and poor shape. Maintenance is being neglected. Teachers’ quality and attendance are matters of great concern. Private schools, even in small villages, are charging high fees to compensate cost of capital and overheads. Government should promote and support private schools by easing norms, availability of lands and soft loans. Vigilance on public schools should be tightened and authorities and teachers should be inspired to do their karma/duties/hard work with devotion.

There is great shortage medical/nursing university. By having glocal (global+local) education system, great employment can be created. Need is to give easy approval subject to fulfilment of simple rules and regulations and there should be standard procedures for providing soft loans and lands.

Every year there is almost a 10% rise in number Indian students going abroad for higher education. Many countries USA, UK, Australia have been attracting Indian students. Even Singapore, China, Burma and South Korea have become educational hubs. Countries like France, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands have also started attracting Indian students. Many students from Bharat are now going to Russia for medical education. They are getting employment also at fabulous salary.

Government needs to simplify rules for creating medical and social infrastructure, both for overseas and Bharatwasi students. As on 2017-19, government mobilised almost Rs. 2.8 trillion (or Rs. 2.8 lakh crore) on account of cess education. Funds should be utilised to create better amenities in schools. Reform and ease of registration are required in National Skill Development Mission, National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 2019, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikash Yojana and the skill loan scheme.

Bharat: The NDA led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has had a thumping victory in the General Election 2019. With an overwhelming majority, he will form the Government. PM Modi may now focus on reforms in all sectors so as to have sustainable and inclusive growth with emphasis on creating employment, boosting private investment, augmenting income of farmers and easing the access to funds. All of these should be done while making easy terms of repayment and recovery, thus redressing farmers’ distress. Also it is important to amend the GST act to make it simpler and limit the number of slabs to three by removing 18% and 28% slabs for easy compliance and relief to retailers/traders who have voted him to power despite great suffering. There's a need to boost exports by improving global competitiveness, for which labour laws reforms are needed and many hurdles need to be removed. The country’s quest for quality infrastructure faces severe constraints like land acquisition, payments from governments and its agencies, high capital costs. Even the NBFCs which have been the source of credit for various sectors and even for small and medium contractors and enterprises, are struggling due to stringent rules of RBI, SEBI and authorities and the ongoing liquidity crisis in the sector. Government must address the problems of the NBFCs so that they can once again focus on nation building and financial inclusion.

It is hoped and trusted that Bharat will rise to be a nation with inclusive and sustainable growth. In 1897, Swami Vivekanand had said that Bharat is a sleeping dragon and when it will arise, no power of the world can stop it. Let Bharatwasis, leaders and authority work hard with devotion, righteously and fearlessly without malice against any human being and not harming Mother Earth.
