The cement demand has started improving in 2016. Cement production increased 8% in February 2016 and 11% in March 2016 over the same period of the last year after 11 months of slow growth or contraction. Most of the cement compa-nies have admitted that there was an improvement in the cement demand from the second half of the previous fiscal.
The largest cement company , UltraTech Cement, said that the cement manufacturers are also expect-ing cement to grow 7-8% in the next year riding on the government’s focus on infrastructure develop-ment, housing, and smart cities.
