Parents are often under pressure to enroll their children into academic institutions that ensure a bright future and equip the children to successfully face future challenges. New Era Public School is one of the leading institutions in Chhattisgarh that promotes holistic learning. BE’s Tapan Chakraborty spoke to Dinesh Lamba, Director, New Era Public School, Korba, Chhattisgarh.

Q) How is your school shaping the future of its students?

A) Our school is one of the leading schools in the state and in the Korba district. Children from different parts of our district converge here to learn, imagine, think and act. This is a school where youth are supported to evaluate and challenge their own world views and learn to understand other cultural perspectives. In today’s scenario, education is playing a vital role in shaping the future of the students. There was a time when people were not aware about the importance of education. The number of literate people was less and the jobs were plenty. But with the advent of the modern education system, this has changed completely. Today parents as well as students are well aware of the stiff competition that exists. This has paved way for coaching centres to act as supplementary learning centres. Students are under constant pressure to crack competitive exams. Our school aims to provide a holistic educational experience.

Q) How does your school ensure a holistic educational experience?

A) Joining the New Era Public School High School is only the start of a journey that can lead to many exciting destinations. Our school encourages students to be enthusiastic about academics as well as co-curricular activities. We try to take care of each and every student and cater to their individual needs. Our school tries to provide an environment that encourages our students to excel.  From academics to co-curricular activities, perseverance and a never-say-die spirit are entrenched in every student, not only making them good students but brilliant human beings. In today’s world, a 360 degree development and grooming is of utmost importance.

Q) How has been the development of your school?

A) I am very happy with the progress that the school has made by imbibing in its students value based education that is synergised with modern teaching-learning methods. We are producing a generation of well-informed students. I am positive that we will continue this journey in future and provide a platform of holistic learning. We offer a broad curriculum and a range of opportunities for all our students to achieve excellence in academic, creative, social, cultural, sporting and community endeavours. We value collaborative learning, positive relationships and building capacity among our students. We believe that these skills will effectively allow them to excel in future, where problem solving, evaluating, workings in teams, communicating, creating and innovating are not only valued concepts but expected skills, attributes and capabilities.

Q) Does your school encourage and promote social interactions?

A) We encourage our students to develop respectful relationships with their peers, teachers and the broader community. We instill a keen social conscience and the capacity to make ethical decisions. We work hard to develop and sustain productive partnerships and connections with their parents, other schools and businesses and leading tertiary institutions. We are proud to be a high performing school.
