Attracted to the livability of SUVs, the consumers are now shifting their taste away from the sedans and hatchbacks and moving towards robust vehicles. For many people, SUVs have now become a lifestyle statement and an extension of their own personality. The automobile industry has recognised this shift and has diversified their line-ups with high performing SUVs.

Tata Motors, have already made their presence felt with models like the Nexon, Tiago and Hexa’s superior capabilities in terms of design and performance in the passenger vehicle segment. Harrier is further cementing its position in the market.

The Harrier launched in January, 2019, is a monocoque premium SUV with an extremely robust and capable architecture supported by a future facing design. Starting with a great foundation, the Harrier is also the first car to debut Tata Motors’ new IMPACT 2.0 design language. It is based on new generation OMEGARC (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture) which was developed in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover. The architecture is derived from the legendary Land Rover D8 and adapted to suit Indian conditions.

The official Instagram handle clocked 100000+ followers in a short time post the launch. They received Most Awaited Car (below `30 Lacs) award from Exhibit Auto Tech 2019 and within six months crossed 10,000 customers.

Being the first vehicle reflecting the IMPACT 2.0 Design philosophy, the Harrier brings extraordinary exteriors with intelligently designed plush interiors and future-ready connectivity and infotain-ment. While its exterior design gives the vehicle an exceptionally distinguished stance, its interiors delivers an endless luxurious cabin experience with surplus space and a class-leading choice of materials, features and infotainment systems.

The monocoque construction uses the advanced lightweight and high tensile materials to meet superior performance standards while delivering optimum safety. It also offers optimal Torsional and Bending Stiffness so that you can enjoy superior driving dynamics in both urban and rough road conditions.

Additionally, the vehicle is powered by the all-new 2.0L KRYTEC Diesel engine. Not only is this 4-cylinder, next generation diesel engine equipped with a state-of-the-art engine management system, but the exhaust after treatment systems are also tuned to deliver extremely low carbon footprint.

As for safety, the vehicle is equipped with advanced ESP (Electronic Stability Program) with anti-lock braking system, electronic brake distribution, corner stability control, off-road abs, electronic traction control, electronic stability control, hill hold control, hill descent control, roll over mitigation, brake disc wiping, electronic brake pre-fill hydraulic brake assist, hydraulic fading compensation and dynamic wheel torque by brake. Besides that, the Harrier also has a reverse parking camera for precision parking, front fog lamps with cornering function and 6 airbags.
