Tata Motors delivers India’s first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) powered bus

Tata Motors completes delivery of the country’s first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)-powered bus order. Two units of 36-seater Starbus LNG AC models were delivered to LNG Petronet Limited in Dahej, Gujarat and two units in Kochi, Kerala. It proves to be advantageous for promoting a green environment. The occasion was graced by A. K. Saseendran, Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Government of Kerala, with eminent dignitaries from Tata Motors and Petronet LNG Limited. Speaking on the occasion, Rohit Srivastava, Vice President, Product Line – Buses, Tata Motors, said, “Our in-depth understanding of sustainable public transport has led us towards creating a lower-carbon future. With the LNG technology, Tata Motors is also extending capability towards the energy security of the nation.” The fuel carrying capacity of the LNG buses is up to 2.5 times more than the CNG ones and operates up to 600-700 km in one tank fill.

Hindware Appliances forays into ceiling fans

Somany Home Innovation Ltd., makers of ‘Hindware Appliances’ has forayed into the ceiling fans category under its popular brand ‘Hindware Snowcrest’ to further strengthen its presence in the consumer appliances segment. The fans are available in a lineup of six models under three categories offering a price range from `1499 to ` 2999. Speaking on the launch, Rakesh Kaul, CEO and Whole Time Director, Somany Home Innovation Ltd. said, “We have joined hands with the finest manufacturing and design facilities in the country and aim to bring products which are well-engineered to deliver optimised performances while retaining competitive cost”. Indian oil’s initiatives in retail marketing

Indian Oil’s introduces ‘Har Ek Kaam Desh Ke Naam’ initiatives for retail marketing to reach every corner through the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).Under PMUY, Indian Oil has major share of 51.9 % by releasing 46 lakh connections. Under West Bengal State Office, Indian Oil has 1233 retail outlets including 367 KSKs with a market share of 50.51% in petrol and 52.41% in diesel as on April-January 2020.IndianOil refineries, pipelines, storage terminals and retail outlets across West Bengal have been upgraded to ensure supply of BS-VI fuel. Upcoming projects of the initiative are renewable resources and foreign exchange savings, initiatives for Indian Air Force, grassroot bottling plant at Kharagpur, diesel exhaust fluid plant at Budge Budge, modernisation of lube blending plant at Paharpur and new pipeline projects.

XLRI to hold 64th Annual Convocation

Xavier School of Management (XLRI) is set to hold its 64th Annual Convocation on March 21,2020. This year prestigious ‘Sir Jehangir Ghandy Medal for Industrial and Social Peace’ will be conferred to Sanjiv Mehta, Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Unilever Ltd. He will also deliver the convocation address to the graduating students. Speaking about

Samsung launches 2020 range of room air conditioners

Samsung launched its new 2020 air conditioners line-up in West Bengal, introducing models across segments. The line-up includes the Wind-Free AC 2.0 with Wi-Fi capability, human detection and green R32 gas, premium Triple Inverter Series and the Eco Inverter series. Ankur Kapoor, Deputy General Manager, Consumer Electronics Business, Samsung India, said, “We expect to double our business in West Bengal in 2020. West Bengal: a key growth market for Coca-Cola

Taking forward the vision of becoming ‘Total Beve-rage Company with strong local roots’, Coca-Cola India has recently announced West Bengal as its key growth market. It also announced its partnership with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Speaking at the launch of the initiative, T. Krishnakumar, President, Coca-Cola India and South West Asia, said, “We aim to showcase our gratitude by celebrating the unique, diverse culture of Bengal with our differentiated offerings and continued investment.”Shehnaz Gill, Senior Vice President - Operations, Coca-Cola India added “We will engage with consumers across multiple touch points using three key pillars-language and culture, festivals, and passion points.” zav Ratan Goenka, Chairman and Hemant Kumar Goenka, Managing Director, Diamond Beverages were also present at the occasion.
