Canon India takes online photography master-classes

Canon India has expanded its digital masterclass series to regional markets and will be organising sessions in regional languages and introduced webinars on cinematography for filming and videography professionals. Speaking about the initiative, C Sukumaran, Director, Consumer System Products and Imaging Communication Products highlighted that, “We adopted a strategic approach to go hyperlocal and conduct webinars in regional languages. With the second phase of the webinars, our focus is to reach out to the diverse range of consumers across regions.” The webinars would cover a wide range of topics such as photographers guide to creative lighting, lens understanding, and cinematic videos from EOS, cinematic videos from EOS, equipment selection guide for wildlife photography and many more.

Senco Gold and Diamonds donated to combat Covid-19

Senco Gold and Diamonds in collaboration with Indian Medical Association (IMA) donated PPE kits, surgical masks, gloves and sanitisers for the frontline workers of Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Dr. Shantanu Sen, President, IMA, Shaankar Sen, CMD, Senco Gold and Diamonds and Suvankar Sen, ED, Senco Gold and Diamonds handed over the items to the Honourable Mayor Firhad Hakim and Deputy Mayor Atin Ghosh.

HPE deploys cloud-enabled COVID-19 test labs and OPD centres

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced it has completed deployment of four COVID-19 Test Labs and four Outpatient Department (OPD) Centres across the country to assist the Government of India and state governments in their efforts to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. Debjani Ghosh, President, NASSCOM said, “COVID-19 has thrown unprecedented challenges for the world and industries. Cloud-enabled HPE COVID-19 test labs and OPDs will enable authorities to refine their testing process and will significantly reduce the strain on existing healthcare facilities.” Som Satsangi, MD-India, HPE said, “As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to challenge local communities across the world, we are responding with initiatives to support the communities where we live and work. The deployment of HPE COVID-19 Test Labs and OPD Centres will support the government’s efforts to prevent, detect and respond to COVID-19.”

P.C. Chandra Jewellers reopened six of their showrooms

P.C. Chandra Jewellers has reopened six showrooms across Bengal and Tripura from early May, 2020. The company has restarted its operations in Bankura, Purulia, Durgapur (City Centre), Katwa, Balurghat, and Agartala. It is following stringent safety measures across all its reopened showrooms. The safety measures include mandatory use of thermal scanner, installation of washbasin at the entry point, compulsory use of hand sanitiser at entry and exit points, wearing mask and gloves and frequent showroom cleaning and sanitising. Uday Kumar Chandra, Managing Director, P.C. Chandra Jewellers, said, “Considering the uncertainty of the present situation in terms of health, economy, and and job security, the company would like to convey a sense of assurance and positivity to their employees and karigars.”
