Tata AIA Life Insurance hosts virtual health and wellness event

Tata AIA Life Insurance hosted its first online event around holistic wellness under the initiative “Sehat ka Rakshakaran” - featuring iconic footballer and cultural icon David Beckham, who is also AIA’s Global Brand Ambassador. Hosted by television presenter Gaurav Kapur, the event included chef and nutritionist Vicky Ratnani, mythologist and author Devdutt Patnaik, fitness influencer Natasha Goel and internet entrepreneur, motivational speaker Ankur Warikoo for short sessions. Rishi Srivastava, MD & CEO, Tata AIA Life said, “The onset of the global pandemic has highlighted the need for health and wellness more than ever before. This event is in line with our priority to support our policy-holders, employees, partners and wider communities.”

BKT Tires’ fuels its boundless passion for sports

Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT Tires), the Indian multinational group and global player in the off-highway tire market has announced that it will be sponsoring six teams in the upcoming T-20 league for Season 2020, namely Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. Rajiv Poddar, Joint MD of BKT, said, “We are a keen supporter of several national sports all around the globe, but it fills me with immense pleasure that we are now supporting such a significant sporting event of India.”

Doctoral programmes in AI, ML, cryptography and security

The Institute for Advancing Intelligence, one of the verticals of TCG CREST, inaugurated its Doctoral Programme in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cryptography and Security. The PhD program will be offered in collaboration with Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI).  Dr. Purnendu Chatterjee, Founder & Chairman of TCG CREST, said, “The course aims at giving a competitive advantage to students and professionals in order to stay relevant, innovative and competitive.” Prof. Sabyasachi Bhattacharya, the Director of TCG CREST, explained that skilled human resources possessing an analytical mind-set and proficient in quantitative sciences, are an absolute necessity for progress. 


Multi-Verse Technologies announce the launch of in:collab

Multi-Verse Technologies Pvt. Microsoft introduces Hindi and English to Neural Text-to-Speech service

Microsoft India has announced the addition of English (India) and Hindi to its Neural Text-to-Speech (Neural TTS) service language set. The two languages are among the 15 new dialects added to the service enabled with state-of-the-art AI audio quality. Sundar Srinivasan, GM, Microsoft India (R&D) Pvt. Ltd., said, “These services have played a key role in democratising information reach and empowering people and organisations. We will continue to drive further advancements in speech services to access information easily.” Neural TTS reduces listening fatigue when users are interacting with AI systems making it ideal for developing interfaces to communicate with customers.

DEA, FM and UNDP India launched the Sustainable Finance Collaborative

The Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance - Government of India and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) India launched the Sustainable Finance Collaborative (SFC). The three-day consultation was held with the objective of - bringing together leading experts and organisations to work together to boost the country’s efforts on mobilising sustainable and green finance. Shoko Noda, Resident Representative, UNDP India said, “While we recover from Covid, we must not lose sight of the bigger picture. With only a decade left to achieve the 2030 goals, and there are still many challenges that are yet to be faced. The SFC is strong step towards putting in a place a robust financing framework for India’s sustainable growth and development.”


‘Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad’ opened new library on Teachers’ Day

The library at ‘Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad’ has been modernised during the Corona pandemic. With a collection of more than 20,000 books - it is the result of the immense reverence and hard work of Pradip Chopra, well known social worker and book-lover, towards the Parishad.  The renovated library was jointly inaugurated by the director of the Parishad, Dr. Kusum Khemani online and the secretary, Dr. Shambhunath, directly. Pradip Chopra, VP of the Parishad said, “We also have a coffee shop and a discussion room with the library to mould this library according to the interests of the new generation. We are making plans to provide books digitally.”
