Amazon organised that its Great Indian festival - the biggest opening for its sellers and brand partners. Manish Tiwary, Vice President, Amazon India commented, “Over 1.1 lakh sellers receiving orders, 66% sellers, 91% of new customers and 66% of new Prime sign-ups from small towns, shopping in 5 Indian languages and orders from over 98.4% of India’s pin-codes in just 48 hours - it’s truly Bharat’s biggest celebration on Amazon ever.” Top sold categories were smartphones, large appliances and consumer electronics with leading brands like OnePlus, Samsung, Apple and Xiaomi making record sales.

NABARD's sanitation literacy campaign

NABARD has sanctioned and disbursed `15,000 crore and `12,298 crore respectively for construction of 3.29 crore toilets in rural areas. With this, they have moved on to the ODF+ phase where sustenance of the sanitation objectives is of prime importance. With the above objectives in mind, NABARD has embarked upon a Pan-India Sanitation Literacy Campaign to promote literacy on WASH products (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene). The campaign in West Bengal was launched by H.K.Dwivedi, IAS, ACS, Home, Hill Affairs and others, Government of West Bengal in the presence of Subrata Mandal, CGM, NABARD, West Bengal and Sandeep J Gaware took over as the Chief General Manager (CGM) of Canara Bank, Circle Office, Kolkata. In the state, there will be 100 such village level programmes covering all the districts.
