Godrej Appliances launches India’s most eco- friendly AC

Godrej Appliances launched its widest range of eco-friendly air conditioners. The entire range spanning more than 38 models, uses only the most eco-friendly refrigerants, R290 and R32, thus offering the lowest Global Warming Potential (GWP). The Godrej ACs come with Inverter technology for precise cooling, Anti Corrosive Blue and Gold fin Coating on Evaporator for trouble free product usage, multi-layered acoustics jacked for Silent Operation, Active Carbon, Anti-Bacterial and Anti Dust filters for air purification. Commenting on the launch, Kamal Nandi, Business Head and Executive Vice President, Godrej Appliances said, “New R290 refrigerant, has received recognition from the United Nations (UNEP). The new range of Godrej ACs with 0 ODP and the lowest GWP, is another leap in that direction, COOLING YOU AND THEPLANET”

Samsung India launches Galaxy A50, A30 and A10

Samsung India announced the launch of all-new Galaxy A smartphones that come with industry-leading innovations for Gen Z. The new Galaxy A devices are designed with Ultra-Wide Angle Camera (Video), Fast Charging technology and Infinity-U Display. The all new products of Galaxy A series are Galaxy A50, A30 and A10. Ranjivjit Singh, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President, Samsung India said, “Centred around the generation on-the-go, Galaxy A offer capabilities to shoot videos in Ultra–Wide, Slow-Mo and Hyper lapse modes.”

Unique micro vascular surgery at Narayana Superspeciality Hospital

Emergency free flap surgery is a unique micro vascular surgery which is done by plastic surgeons in order to provide the best possible functionality of a new tongue. 30 years old patient was admitted at Narayana Superspecility Hospital, Howrah in January, 2018 for an ulcer over the left side of his tongue which had been already biopsied and diagnosed to be tongue cancer under a team of oncosurgeons under Dr. Sourav Datta, Dr. Harsh Dhar, Dr. Apurva Garg and Plastic Surgeon Dr. Adhish Basu. Within 6 hours the surgery and rebuilding of the tongue was completed.

United Bank of India signs Bancassurance deal with HDFC Life

United Bank of India signed a Bancassurance deal with HDFC Life Insurance Company. Through this partnership United Bank of India’s customers will be able to take advantage of HDFC Life’s expertise in Life Insurance products, distribution and customer service. This will increase penetration pan India with major focus in rural and semi-urban parts of east and north-eastern states as United Bank has a strong presence in rural and semi-urban areas. This tie-up marks HDFC Life’s third PSU Bancassurance tie-up in FY 2019.

Short films that deserved an Oscar, now on Tata Sky ShortsTV

Tata Sky organised a screening of nominated and award winning short films from across the globe at Hard Rock Café, Kolkata. Present at the screening were Rasika Duggal, Chintan Sarda and Tarun Sawhney. The Oscar nominated short films that were screened included Bear Story (Winner of Best Animated Short Film, 2015 Academy Awards), French Roast (Nominated for Best Animated Short Film, 2009 Academy Awards) and The Eleven O’Clock (Nominated for Best Live Action Short Film, 2018 Academy Awards). P R Rajagopal joins Allahabad Bank as Executive Director

P R Rajagopal has joined as Executive Director of Allahabad Bank on March 1, 2019. Prior to joining Allahabad Bank, he served as General Manager of Union Bank of India. SBI conducting “NUMERO YONO QUIZ”

SBI has been conducting a nationwide quiz programme for college students to promote Bank’s Digital innovation “YONO” among youths named as ‘NUMERO YONO QUIZ’. The competition for Graduate and Post Graduate students between 18 and 30 years of age will be conducted across all 17 cities where the SBI local head offices are located. The winners of the event from each city would be conferred with an annual scholarship of up to Rs. 3.72 lakh. One winner team from each City will visit Mumbai will compete with each other for the top position to win scholarship of `5.85 lakh at Mumbai.

OFB to manufacture world class assault rifle

The Prime Minister on March 3, 2019 dedicated the Indo-Russian Rifle Pvt. Ltd. to the nation at a function held in the Amethi district, Uttar Pradesh. This is a joint venture formed between the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) on the Indian side and Rosoboronexport and Concern Kalashnikov of Russia on the other. The joint venture has been formed to manufacture the latest AK – 203 series of assault rifles at the Ordnance Factory Project Korwa. India is the first country to receive the drawings and technological details for the manufacture of this assault rifle.
