15:40 pm

B.E. Bureau

Siragu celebrated Women’s Day in appreciation, respect and love towards women. On this day besides spreading awareness and acknowledging woman’s contribution to life; society; family and work, we salute their strength, resilience, sacrifice and applaud their roles and achievements.

This Women’s Day, a Health Camp was organised at Siragu. An interactive session was also held on personalhygine and use of sanitary products. After the programme one of our trainees Amala said “Siragu is the first to support us and give us confidence in ourselves. Even our family is encouraging us to come and work here. This medical camp will help a lot of women like us from the slums”.

Siragu is a venture which aims to empower women by providing them a unique platform for self development and independence. Siragu provides training in skills such as making sturdy newspaper, denim and jute products, thus enabling them to make an earning and support their family.

This initiative is supported by Acid Survivors Women Welfare Foundation, which is a leading non-profit organisation, having an all India presence with a focus on eradication of acid violence and care of acid victims.
