PM Modi Unveils Transformative Projects Worth `32,000 Crore in Jammu and Kashmir

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a series of groundbreaking projects amounting to over `32,000 crore in Jammu and Kashmir, demonstrating a commitment to bolstering various sectors, including health, education, rail, road, aviation, petroleum, and civic infrastructure. The initiatives encompassed the inauguration of AIIMS Jammu, dedication of educational campuses, laying foundation stones for crucial infrastructure projects, and addressing key societal issues.

Educational Advancements and Skill Development

PM Modi inaugurated and dedicated significant educational institutions, including IIT Bhilai, IIT Tirupati, IIITDM Kurnool, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Visakhapatnam, and the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) Kanpur. Emphasizing the government’s focus on education and skill development, he noted the remarkable progress made over the past decade, with the establishment of numerous schools, colleges, and universities. The Prime Minister highlighted the fulfillment of his guarantee to create IIT and IIM in Jammu and Kashmir, citing it as a testament to the government’s commitment to modern education.

Healthcare Milestones

In a significant stride towards enhancing healthcare in the region, PM Modi announced the inauguration of AIIMS Jammu. He underscored the substantial growth in medical colleges, MBBS and PG medical seats, and the establishment of nursing and paramedic colleges in Jammu and Kashmir. The Prime Minister revealed the sanctioning of 15 new AIIMS across the country in the last decade.

Article 370 Abrogation and Balanced Development

Addressing the removal of Article 370, PM Modi remarked that it has paved the way for a new Jammu and Kashmir focused on balanced development. He acknowledged the region’s journey towards overcoming hurdles and lauded the positive change in atmosphere. The Prime Minister highlighted the government’s efforts to fulfill long-pending demands, including the implementation of One Rank One Pension for ex-servicemen.

Social Justice and Women’s Empowerment

PM Modi reaffirmed the commitment to social justice, acknowledging the inclusion of communities like Balmiki, Paddari, Pahari, Gadda Brahmans, and Kolis in scheduled categories. He celebrated the extension of reservation benefits for Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, emphasizing the foundational mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.” The Prime Minister also highlighted the empowerment of women through various schemes, underscoring the positive impact of Article 370 abrogation on women’s rights.

In concluding remarks, PM Modi expressed confidence in creating a developed Jammu and Kashmir, urging citizens to actively participate in the journey towards progress.
