LINC announced the launch of ‘Pentonic - Covid-19 Killer’


Linc Pen and Plastics Limited announced the launch of a - the Pentonic Covid-19 Killer. It is a finger-free touch device designed to keep one safe in instances of unavoidable physical contact like - elevator buttons, doorbells, card swipe machines, ATM buttons, vending machines, switches and innumerable other areas. The 70% ethanol-based ink of the Pentonic Covid-19 Killer also sterilises the surface it touches. Deepak Jalan, MD and CEO, Linc Pen and Plastics Limited, said, "We set forth to create and launch an avant-garde product that would contribute to the safety of people and touch the lives of all. It was nothing short of a challenging feat to develop and manufacture such a device during the lockdown, when resources were limited."


Safety 360: Patton launches Contactless Safe Wash Station


Patton Group’s have risen to the occasion to combat Covid-19 by launching a hygienic hand washing product - the Contactless Safe Wash Station. After testing multiple prototypes, two variations of the first model were launched - the Regular Single Basin (200 Litre Tank Capacity - allows for up to 300 hand washes per refill) and the Ultra Single Basin (500 Litre Tank Capacity - allows for up to 750 hand washes per refill). Upon being asked about the early stages of product development Preeyam Budhia, President - Business Development, Patton Group said, “We are already living in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) world and Covid-19 has shaken up our very of way existing, locally and globally. It was the need of the hour to be prepared for a post-lockdown new normal.”


Shree Stree Shakti Yojna - “Stitching for a cause”


At the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Centre of Shree Cement in Beawar, Rajasthan, the humming of hundreds of sewing machines operated by girls from poor families has been a common sight. It is being functioned under the company’s CSR initiative - Shree Stree Shakti Yojna. Over forty thousand quality masks have been stitched and distributed by Shree Cement among its employees, workers and in the rural and backward areas of Ajmer and Pali district. Since the onset of Covid-19 pandemic, poor girls from villages of Beawar and Ras got a new opportunity of income that is helping them to become self-reliant. A sanitized company vehicle brings the girls to the CSR centre where they undergo a round of stringent sanitization drill before starting work.

Debabrata Das assumes charge as Zonal Head, Kolkata Zone of Bank of Baroda

 

Debabrata Das has taken over as Zonal Head, Kolkata Zone of Bank of Baroda. He has taken over charge from P. Vinod Kumar Reddy who had retired. Prior to joining the present assignment Das was heading the Gold Loan Department of the bank as Deputy General Manager. Das has joined the bank in 1991. He has 29 years of experience in mainstream banking operations in various capacities including Regional Head of Guwahati and Kolkata Regions.


Medtronic developed MyCareLink Smart™ Monitor for pacemakers


In one such instance, Medtronic, a global leader in medical technology, services, and solutions, developed the MyCareLink Smart™ Monitor for pacemakers. It is the world’s first app-based remote monitoring system (RMS) for patients with implantable pacemakers. Patients with a Medtronic pacemaker can use their own smartphone or tablet technology, with cellular or Wi-Fi service, to securely transmit data from their pacemakers. Dr. Aftab Khan, Senior Consultant of Interventional Cardiologist said, “It allows a physician to access this data anywhere, anytime by helping to see patient’s current heartbeat at that moment and the entire status and functioning of the implanted device.”

Castrol India announces results


Castrol India announces net cash generated from operations in the first half of 2020 at `302 Crore that was `356 Crore of 2019. Revenue from operations was `1,179 Crore and Profit after Tax (PAT) was `191 Crore in the first half of 2020. It was `2,016 Crore and `368 Crore in the same period 2019 respectively. Sandeep Sangwan, Managing Director, Castrol India Limited commented on the result, “This is despite disruptions owing to the Covid-19 pandemic which escalated in the second quarter of 2020, resulting in a continued slowdown of the economy including decline in lubricants consumption. We have committed `11.7 Crore of our annual CSR budget during this quarter to support several impacted communities as #IndiaFightsCorona.”
