The 25th FAFAI International Convention and Expo, 2023, was held at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan on Friday, February 24 and 25, 2023.It was focused on creating business opportunities leading to the industry’s growth in India and overseas. An exhibition of members and non-members of FAFAI, showcasing flavours, ingredients, and fragrances, was accompanied by a series of technical sessions.

Joining at the inaugural ceremony of the convention & expo, Chief Guest Firhad Hakim, Mayor, Kolkata Corporation said, “It is my privilege to welcome you all to our city and I must say that in our day-to-day life, we all our dependent on fragrances and today the entire industry from various parts of the world is gathered in a city which has its own flavour. All the delegates present here should get to experience the flavour of Calcutta. FAFAI is celebrating its 25th convention and expo and I wish this convention every success.” The convention was inaugurated by Atin Ghosh, Deputy Mayor, Kolkata Municipal Corporation at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan on Friday.

This unique event provided a common platform for the entire industry to meet and interact, build relationships, exchange ideas, create business opportunities leading to the industry’s growth in India and help establish a strong foothold in international markets.

According to Rishabh C Kothari, President, FAFAI, “This year it is special not only because it is the 25th edition but also because it is happening in the city of joy. I am overwhelmed with gratitude.”

FAFAI is the nation’s apex body in the field of fragrances, flavours, aroma chemicals, natural oils, and their ancillaries. Started by a group of connoisseurs in 1949, their goal has been to create a sense of unity among the traders and dealers in the industry. This has allowed the organisation to grow into a national association with close to 900 current members.
