Round Table India (RTI) Kolkata Chapter Table No 227 & Young Leaders Forum (YLF) recently organised the second edition of the ‘Pride of Bengal Awards 2019’. This award programme celebrates the biggest successes from the state of West Bengal.

Dr. H.P. Kanoria was conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award in this event for his diverse contributions to society. Dr. Kanoria said, “I am humbled by this award. Be enterprising and serve humanity and create wealth for the nation.” The other awardees included actor Raima Sen and athlete Swapna Burman among others. Burman who had recently won the gold medal at 2018 Asian Games and was placed first in the Heptathlon at the 2017 Asian Athletics Championships, informed BE, “I feel very honoured to be invited in this event where most of the participants are leaders from the business community. I would like to take this opportunity to say that everyone who is supporting me now after the Asian Games should also come forward to support young sporting talents and help them emerge in the big stage.”

Keshav Bhajanka, Chairman YLF, and Ayush Beriwala, Chairman, Kolkata Victorian Round Table 227, stated, “The second edition of the Pride of Bengal Awards 2019 is a year-long effort to identify, recognise and celebrate talent from Bengal. Personalities across various/diversified fields were awarded for going an extra mile in this competitive world. It’s a recognition for all the hardships and challenges that went into carving themselves and also for inspiring the next generation to not only be successful but also to make the state proud.”
