Season 5 Episode 11: Health and Fashion During a Pandemic

‘A fit, healthy body – that is the best fashion statement’- Jess C. Scott. The guest of the 11th episode of TuriyaTalks, Season 5 was Dr. Charu Dutt Arora, a Consultant - Infectious Diseases, Dept. of Internal Medicine, Mayom Hospital, Gurgaon & Director of the Rising Wizards, accompanied by the host Akil Sukumar of Turiya Communications. The session was held on 26th September on the topic ‘ Health and Fashion During a Pandemic.’

 

The guest is a doctor by profession but his love for art, craft, styling and glamour since childhood attracted him towards fashion and thus he came up with the Rising Wizards. It’s a platform where young talents get a chance to showcase their talents in various fields. Dr. Charu shared the hardships faced by him during his journey of medicine to fashion.

 

He believes that it’s very important to educate the people about the disease. "The biggest precaution to take is to save ourselves, before saving others". The last eight months had been very challenging as a doctor. Dr. Charu added that one cannot rely on vaccines, rather it’s we the people who have to fight the disease and take proper precautions.

 

"Fashion and Entertainment industry is going through a very tough time", he claimed. He is an ardent follower of the renowned designers. Both health and fashion goes together, he added. Though pandemic has affected fashion industry in great terms but because of the presence of virtual platforms, these indutries managed to stay connected to people and survive.

 

He concluded the session by saying, "Covid era is the new era and people have to accept this".
