Varmora Granito will invest to generate 1,200 employments

Varmora Granito Pvt Ltd brand is setting up two state of the art high tech plants at Morbi in Gujarat. Company is planning to invest around `300 crore in 35,000 sq. meters per day facility for large format GVT tiles. The company will generate 1,200 direct and indirect employment opportunities. Speaking on this occasion Bhavesh Varmora, Chairman, Varmora Group said, "Varmora Granito looks to strengthen its identity as the leader in the Indian ceramic industry by consistently introducing innovative and value-added products. The proposed expansion will help us to meet the growing demand from export market as well as serve the domestic markets better. In the next two-three years, company has set a target of `1,600 crore revenue, expand export network to 100 plus countries from 70 currently and increase exclusive showrooms to over 320."

First-of-its-kind breast cancer risk reduction surgery at Apollo Hospitals Kolkata

Apollo Hospitals, Kolkata recently did a Beverly Hills surgery as Mousumi Roy, a 37-year-old homemaker from Midnapore district conjured came up with a positive BRCA test report - pronouncing her at high risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer. In October 2013, Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie had undergone the same surgery in Beverly Hills, California. Mousumi Roy’s surgeon, Dr. Suvadip Chakrabarti, consultant surgical oncologist, Apollo Kolkata conducted the surgery on the right breast in January 2020 (after which the patient underwent adjuvant chemotherapy under consultant medical oncologist Dr. Indranil Ghosh and adjuvant radiation under consultant radiation oncologist Dr. Tanweer Shahid at Apollo Kolkata. Later the team also comprised Dr. Ramna Banerjee (consultant gynaecologist), Dr. Saptarshi Bhattacharya (consultant plastic surgeon) and Dr. Tapas Kar from surgical oncology.

Indian Overseas Bank performance highlights for the quarter ended September 30, 2020

Performance highlights of Indian Overseas Bank released for the quarter ended September 30, 2020. Total business stood at `460034 crore as against `440609 crore on last quarter. Total deposits stood at `229607 crore as on 30th September 2020 against `225546 crore on the last quarter. Net profit for stood at `148 crore as against `121 crore compared to the previous quarter. Gross advances stood at `135469 crore for the bank. Total income has been `5431 crore as against `5234 crore on the earlier quarter. Significantly, reduction in NPA stood at `504 crore as against `1969 crore achieved on the preceding quarter. CASA of the Bank stood at 40.26% as on September 30, 2020 against 41.02% as on June 30, 2020.
