ICAI organised the 45th Regional Conference and launched MSME Mentorship Programme   

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) organised the 45th Regional Conference with the theme ‘Chartered Accountants - Crusading the New Normal’ where in more than 2500 members virtually would be attending the event from across India. The session was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Jagdeep Dhankhar, Governor of West Bengal with first lady Sudesh Dhankhar. It was also attended by CA Atul Kumar Gupta, President, ICAI; CA Nitesh Kr. More, Chairman, EIRC; CA Sanjiv Soni, DF, Finance and CA P Sarath Kumar, Former Civil Servant. The session was Virtually attended by CA Nihar Niranjan Jambusaria, Vice President, ICAi; Rohit Jain, ED, UCO Bank; CA Anil Singhvi, Managing Editor, Zee Business; Madam Neeru Abrol, Ex-MD, NFL; CA Harish Madhav, Director (Fin.), Oil India. In view of the importance of the sector in the economy, ICAI launched MSME Mentorship Programme and 100 Facilitation Centre for MSME/GST during the National Conclave on “Empowering MSMEs towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat” to make them globally competitive. MSME Mentorship Programme – CAs practicing as SMPs shall provide financial and strategic consultancy to MSMEs and help MSMEs to overcome the financial challenges, augment resources and be judicious in expenditure by becoming their mentors. GST and MSME Sahayata Kendra (Facilitation Centres) across India at more than 100 locations to guide MSME in developing their business strategy, tax compliances, how various government schemes can help them and also towards resource mobilisation, etc. ICAI through its Financial Review Reporting Board (ICAI –FRRB) is gearing up for another milestone towards technological advancement by way of utilising Artificial Intelligence (AI).

 

Network and security convergence is the new imperative for service providers

Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR) announced the findings of an Asia Pacific (APAC) report stating that service providers face significant security and capacity challenges that cannot be addressed with traditional standalone approach. A 68% of the respondents in this study said they have seen a moderate to significant growth in the volume of threats in the last year. 73% of respondents are looking to increase security capacity in response to network traffic and architecture. Lee Ming Kai, Head of Systems Engineering, APAC, Juniper Networks commented, “The study has outlined the progressive views of service providers in APAC who recognise the long-term benefits of enabling automated security and networking solutions as opposed to a short-term stopgap for dealing with immediate scale and cost issues.”

Maruti Suzuki Smart Finance rolls out one-stop online finance facility

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced the launch of their online financing platform – Smart Finance - for Maruti Suzuki ARENA customers. The services include option to choose among wide range of finance products based on customer needs, selecting the best-suited loan product, completion of all finance related formalities and disbursal of loan, with just a few clicks. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki India said, “We want to extend the ease of a car buying journey for our ARENA customers as well. The pandemic situation in the country has further increased the usage of digital platforms. With Smart Finance, we aim to reach out to a larger audience, assist them and make every stage of the loan process transparent.”
