The 9th episode of TuriyaTalks season 4 “Voice Your Notion”, held on 20th August 2020, brought Dr. Marie Elizabeth Muller as the guest of the episode. She is a New Media Educator & Storytelling Coach. The host of the episode was Tinanjali Dutta from Turiya Communications. The topic  for the day was “Why ‘purpose’ is the super power for storytellers”. Dr. Marie shared her insights on how one can utilize the art of storytelling to put their ideas in front of the world.

She mentioned that her grandfather and father has had a great impact on her journey of life. She said “In my experience, if someone is new to the field of storytelling, something which grabs the attention of people is if you tell a story from yourself, as in from your life”. She has always been very attached to theatres and had some creative experiences.

In her opinion, the shift from analogue production to digital production has changed everything. It is important to understand all platforms and which platform matters to one the most. “All platforms today are storytelling platforms”. To her the more oral the story telling would be, the more real and empathetic it would turn out to be, which she finds to be very exciting and interesting.
